Crews are currently at the scene of a well-developed fire at a single-storey property outside Tarvin. At the height of the incident, five fire engines including the hydraulic platform from Chester were in attendance.

Initially crews tackled the blaze from the outside the bungalow using a covering jet, but firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were later deployed inside to tackle the blaze using hose reel water jets. A dry powder extinguisher was used on an electrical box.

The fire is now under control and the incident will shortly be reduced to two fire engines. Crews are likely to remain at the scene for much of the day as the cause is investigated. Police are managing traffic at the junction of Cross Lanes and the A51. A further update will be provided in due course.

UPDATE at 08:45 | The fire is now out and one fire engine remains at the scene. Firefighters are making the bungalow safe so that an investigation into the cause can be carried out. No one was in the property at the time of the fire and there are no casualties.
